Celebrating

Travelled to Birmingham today for my retirement celebration, which involved going to a noisy cocktail bar and then on to a skyscraper restaurant called Orelle. This was the view - very spectacular - perhaps more so than the food. A select group of colleagues were with me and it was very pleasant but low key. Afterwards we went to a strange karaoke bar which was clearly in need of customer service training. My throat was too croaky from the annoying cold I have to do it justice, but it was ok. Sleeping back at the hotel wasn’t easy due to cough etc but I managed to get some rest.
