The Lozarithm Lens

Castlefields Park (Saturday 2nd March 2024)

I called in at the Spring Market held in Calne Town Hall this morning to support local sellers. I was mostly looking for tracklements, condiments, jams, foods and beverages, but it seems this isn't what local sellers trade in, though I could have bought a coffee and had a bite there.

I continued to Castlefields Park. This blip was taken at the start of the path that leads to the raised section of the park. You can see the retaining wall. It was long thought the area may have been the site of a castle, dating back to Roman origins, and in 2010 there was an archaological dig that produced strong evidence of it, and in 2014 aerial photography showed exactly where it had stood. A cotoneaster hedge now shows where the castle walls once were.

Now to catch up on adding the Lozarhythms Of The Day for the last few days.
