Hinton Ampner National Trust.

We had sunshine today!
It wasn’t forecast, so a bonus.
After we had seen our friends near where we used to live yesterday afternoon, we drove down to Hayling Island (about 20 minutes down the A3M) from there, to see Stephen’s former work colleague, Ros, who with her husband runs a fruit farm on organic lines, and has free range chickens. It’s been tough for them lately, with the vagaries of the weather. They also have a live link to an owl box which they installed.
I could have watched it for ages!
The beautiful Barn Owl appeared as dusk was beginning sitting watching his domain. His partner remained inside.
It’s called Stoke Fruit Farm and there is a link to it on their website,
Today we’ve had a day out.
Thoroughly enjoying the novelty of having sunshine and blue skies.
First of all we went to Hinton Ampner, where the views from the terrace look out towards the Downs.
After which we had a short drive to Petersfield and a walk around the large pool set in parkland. Lovely to see families out enjoying themselves, feeding the ducks and swans, with their children.
We leave to drive home in the morning and will be having a coffee en route at a Farm shop a little north of Winchester, to catch up with our good friend’s daughter, who was married there two years ago and now is about to have her first baby in 5 weeks time.
I’m off to join Stephen in the lounge. Then we’ll be having dinner.
