It was our BCM day.  That's business continuity management.  And it's difficult to conceive of a more pointless tick-the-box exercise.

If I can open the mainframe, then everything is going to work.

But no - it has to be documented.  Open JIRA (you don't want to know), then switch to Zephyr Scale (and no-one here can pronounce "zephyr", "Zee-Fire" is the most common).  And in Zephyr you have to find your categories and tick all the boxes.

And as predicted, there was a meeting where we could all watch a manager changing the background colour of cells in Excel to green.  True leadership.

On the other hand, we do get paid for it.
