Bombs Away!!!

We were up at 6am, and out they door before 7am. It was a beautiful morning but freezing cold - and one of the heaviest frosts this year. Around minus 4 maybe a bit cooler where we were.

First at the Havelock marina for predawn shoots in the very thick fog, then around to Anikiwa where we also had very heavy fog, and lots of reflections, birds, shags, herons, boats and outward bounders diving off the wharf into the freezing water after their 21km run.

The Mistress was going to blip a beautiful seascape of the gorgeous fog, but then she found this and cracked up. She hadn't seen it happen when she took the image. I did and was very pleased she was using 120-400mm zoom from afar, and not the 10-22mm wide angle really up close!

I still smell of mandarin juice, and very glad I don't have a cormorant smell about me!

This is a Pied Cormorant.
