Vital Sparks

Gerry the Bull

A lovely sunny morning I walked over Cown Edge to Ludworth Moor and back. Skylarks singing and chasing each other around.   Little Owls in their usual place.  a few Lapwing but no Golden Plover ( that was what I was hoping to see).   Half way back to the car I saw a message on a local bird group of 20 Golden Plover which I might have seen if I had walked a little further.

I did hear an unusual bird call which turned out to be a Tree Sparrow. We hardly ever see a House Sparrow but the Tree Sparrow is a rare bird locally.

Extra photo is from the top of Cown Edge to the snowy topped Kinder Scout
