Mute Swan, Kelpies Basin

As usual, we were walking Chloe at the Kelpies quite early this morning. It was pretty chilly, in fact I had to scrape the car windows again! However when the sun came up, it didn’t feel quite as cold and we could feel a bit of warmth even through thick jackets.
A couple of days ago we spotted a pair of swans who seemed to be nest building, pulling up reeds and piling them up int a heap at the edge of the canal. We looked yesterday to see if there had been any progress but couldn’t even find the first heap. This morning they didn’t seem to be talking, one even flew away, and there was still no sign of any nest. We will keep an eye on them .
