Referendum

We are having another referendum next Friday. This is a poster from the No side. I don't see one around Bray from the Yes side. I saw one in Dublin but they are few and far between. The first referendum relates to the definition of family in our Constitution. The second one aims to delete references to a woman's duties in the home and to add a recognition of all carers who look after family members.

It is not going to be as contentious as the abortion or the same sex marriage referendums so the turnout could be low.

It is an attempt to modernise the Irish Constitution, some issues are contoversial and generate a lot of heat but this one seems to be flying under the radar. It will be interesting to see what percentage of the electorate turn out. In the end it is democracy in action and that is what is important when so many people throughout the world are denied it.

Here are three different opinions on the referendum.
