Snowshoeing in the mist

The snow was so soggy after days of plus degrees and sometimes I sank in knee deep, even with snowshoes. Monika and Andy did very well and assured us they really enjoyed the walk.
We have been friends for so long, and Jan has known them even longer than she has known me! We always seem to have so much to talk about and there is usually lots of laughter.
We set off on our trip walking across the area where the forest has been felled right outside our house. It is a scene of some desolation but tomorrow the workers will probably return to finish the job and there may be some clearing up. If not our experience teaches us that spring and a summer of growth will disguise the scars and new plants and trees will spring to life where the old trees once stood.
