I was wrong

I spent ages over the weekend reading reviews of laptops and today I went into a reputable shop to discuss with people who knew about such things, first with someone with no axe to grind then, because of the way I was leaning and because I wanted to find out more, with an Apple specialist. 

It will be expensive but it will be a Mac. Apparently a new Mac is coming out on Friday so I'm going to wait to see what that does to prices. Meanwhile, my old one is limping along and, as last week, I've brought my work Windows machine home just in case.
