Alexanderplatz

This is our tenth trip to Berlin since October 2019. The very first time we stumbled out of the UBahn at Alexanderplatz and jumped on a Hop on Hop off tourist bus to get our bearings, which plunged us immediately into east Berlin. Stupidly, ever since my concept of the Fernsehrturm has been that’s its ‘way over there’ despite looming large over us on every trip.
With a few hours til our flights, I suggested we finally went up it and only to realise how close it is to Unten Den Linden which we routinely walk each visit .
The view was well worth the entrance fee and gave a great view of so many now familiar spots. Also the VR gave the history of Berlin and more respect of what a superb city, it has been through the ages, and how beautiful prior to the World War Two bombings.
A quick last kuchen beside the Nikolaikirche in a very quirky cafe, it was time for home. The transport to the new airport is so straightforward and smooth the entire 48 hour trip is very easy and doable, (if we could remove the first shitty bit)
Already planning return trip in July, the Rittersport shop alone will keep us coming back
Home, cold, a lot of post, curry.
