Tussock Tales

King Palm and The "Post Office".

It's nice to get Royalty involved but this was in the Sydney Gardens as we had a great wander about and explored the Art Gallery too. It got a lot hotter today (26c) 78F with higher predictions tomorow. The Art Gallery is lovey and cool but it's a bit of a walk back so we cheated and came back through the gardens then hopped on the George St shuttle  which is a wonderful invention but you need an Opal card. (which we have).
The great event today was a history tour of the building that housed our hotel. It was the Sydney original post office where the mail was sorted and later had an early telephone exchange. Horses were kept in the basement and the building was the site of the original clock in the town and the only way you could tell the time. (With help later from chimes)
The extra is the current inside view from a higher floor.(now a hotel)
The young lady guide was totally fab and told her stories in a totally entertaining way.
