White Butterbur   ( Petasites albus )

Continuing my series of early Spring wild flowers, here is White Butterbur.
It was brought into Britain from Europe in 1890 by the Headmaster of a Staffordshire Boys’ school.  It is now found in Scotland and Northern England.
We know of only 3 places in Arnside/Silverdale where it grows.
