Reaching for the Sky

The blue house belongs to old Santa Cruz. Built in 1887, the Epworth House has been lovingly restored and cared for over the years. The garden has an interesting assortment of plants, including this giant asparagus looking spear, which I hope someone will identify. The yellow house further down is a recent wanna-be, but oh so much better than the concrete and glass monstrosities that are plopping down on every empty lot these days. I park at this corner twice a week when I meet some friends for a morning walk. It’s such a beautiful neighborhood. The ocean is across the street, right behind me where I stand to make the photo.
