The Owl And The Murmuration

The starlings were first, right here after coming down from Greenhow. I noticed a wide mass of them overhead like a spaceship coming in to land. About half of them are already in the tree because it took a while to stop on the downhill and reach for my camera but there's still plenty in the sky.  I thought that would be it but they left the tree and dropped into the fields repeatedly, either side of my descent into Skyreholme.  I paused with them a few times before setting off on my way home.  Nearly back, at around Addingham, a barn owl caught my eye quartering in the field - so I stopped again!
