View from above Langcliffe

Second day of the Duke of Edinburgh Expedition and the weather turned against us! The students turned south along the River Ribble and then began the steep ascent to the Fell from the pretty village of Langcliffe. I was on checkpoint duty at the top of the hill and they did very well to reach me with their large packs. After they left me they had to cross the moor to Malham and the next campsite. You can just see the campsite where we stayed last night, further up the valley.

In the evening I took a walk to Gordale Scar before tea and guess who I bumped into the way back? Barney and Alicemaylara! Lovely to meet them both at last!
