At RU Hospital Bath

This is a piece of artwork in the hospital in Bath where we visited my brother in law today. So much artwork in the corridors mostly done by children. He has been there for a while but is being well looked after, all the staff we talked to were lovely. Also a coincidence that the ward was opened in 2014 by Don Foster who was then the MP for Bath and who my husband knew quite well when they were both working in science education in 1990s, they even wrote a book together!

It is a huge hospital with chaotic too small car parks, we ended up parking on a double yellow line( in the car park not on a road). On the way out I spotted the extra…Princess Anne opened a new wing in 1981…looking very glamorous then!

We had stayed with our son and family last night and as they both had to get to work very early today we took the grandson to school for 8.30. As it is World Book Day he was dressed up..as Captain Haddock…a character in the Tin-Tin books…wearing a beard plus captains hat and navy blue jumper and trousers! ( no photos of our grandchildren allowed on any form of social media/ internet). We have just heard he won the prize for best dressed in his class! We did see some other children going in dressed in very elaborate outfits clearly bought and not hand made..and none of them were carrying a book!

Back home now after a tiring day and very tedious M4 plus experiencing a McDonalds breakfast.. not to be repeated in a hurry, and a mediocre service station sandwich etc for lunch!
Happy to be home.
