Lord Of The Manor

He sits in this tree looking west
Free food on the branch so close by
And from here he can view his new nest
Where, if startled, he can take to the sky.

For this is his garden retreat
His own house ready built, warm and dry
Daily seed always here at his feet
From where soon his own young might fly
