Here Comes The Sun

“We're so complex; we're mysteries to ourselves; we're difficult to each other. And then storytelling reminds us we're all the same.”
Brad Pitt
We took K2 to Bristol Airport for her flight home to Switzerland yesterday and while over that side of the water I suggested a visit to Tyntesfield, which isn’t far away. K1 had to get back for dog-walking so no-go, still I fancied a visit so today we made it, with warm sunshine and blue spring skies all the way. Just fancied a change of scenery and a walk (and possibly coffee and cake) so we took our time. Lovely relaxing walk through the estate grounds, we gave the house a miss today (we’ve been in a few times). Woodpeckers hammering away practically the whole time we were there, buzzards overhead were mobbed by crows and gardeners everywhere taking advantage of the sunshine to spruce the place up. Already looking good with spring flowers sprinkled around – primroses, daffs and the camellias and rhododendrons rich reds. Sat outside in the sunshine for lunch, unfortunately not the advertised home-made pasties – they were only available downhill at the Pavilion Café (where we’d just come from) and when we eventually got back down there they’d sold out (Aaarrgh). Have to remind myself that not everything ends in food. But on the upside, the second-hand books on display nearby included Citadel by Kate Mosse. I remember reading and enjoying Labyrinth, so I bought this one too.
