The King’s Highway …..

….. ….. ….. wending it’s way around the western side of the top of the Remarkable Mountains.
If you look carefully you’ll be able to see a possible route, marked at present by faint lines of snow. I did walk, with great care, around there once quite a few years ago, with two friends. It’s not technical but there are some significant stretches where a slip could be disastrous; it’s very exposed. Great views though. I rather liked the sight of the row of diggers along the foreground!

I’d gone with #2 son to look at my grandson-in-law’s workshop and latest production. He’s a domestic engineer and is currently building a very wide metal gate, which will run on rollers. Looking upwards from the workshop we had this view of the mountains.

H. has gone back home to Auckland now, a short but lovely visit.
