International Women’s Day

In Italy it’s celebrated with mimosa flowers which would be in bloom around now. Unfortunately mimosa does not do well in The Netherlands outside of greenhouses in the early days of Spring, so I’ll celebrate with one of the daffodils just out in the garden. It’s 2024 and still the half of humankind is being discriminated against in so many ways, and instead of the future for equality between men and women looking bright womanhood is being attacked from extreme fundamentalists to extreme gender minorities. Only this week it became known that politically correct civil servants were trying to change something in the Dutch laws to change the name ‘’mother’ to ‘the person who gave birth to’, as if it’s not clear that only women give birth !
