Art and regeneration

“Retail is not going to come back. We are all shopping online. Even my father buys his boxer shorts off Amazon”, said our local MP Alyn Smith speaking at a cultural event in the Smith art gallery this evening.
So, what’s the future of city centres?
People have a need to meet, and this is where art and the creative industries come in, he said.  Sadly political parties do not recognize this.
He was chairing a discussion by the Mach brother artists/sculptors, David and Robert who have a shared exhibition currently at the Smith.

David Mach ( see extra) said:"Nothing lasts."
Artist Lys Hansen ( see extra) asked some pertinent questions in an attempt to get the Mach brothers to think outside Fife ( where they come from) and to look at the broader picture in Scotland and Europe.
