Packing

After breakfast we did some dusting and vacuuming and general tidying up before our friends arrived for coffee just after 10am.  They brought two delicious cinnamon and walnut confections with them, which were more than enough for the four of us. We gave them the grand tour of the house and garden and they were most impressed, which was rather pleasing.

After they’d left I got stuck into some household chores and MrMacD did some general tidying up downstairs as well as putting the self-levelling compound on the floor in the man cave. We also rehung the curtains in the two guest bedrooms.  I had thought that I’d need to get them taken up but after washing they seem to have shrunk a little.  They can stay hanging while we’re away next week and if they haven’t dropped in that time we’ll take them down and I’ll move the hooks.

We did some more house hold chores and, after supper, faced up to deciding what to pack for our forthcoming cycle trip.  It’s likely to be hot and dry in Christchurch but cold and wet on the West Coast.  We managed it eventually and just have toiletries and tech to sort out in the morning.

My emergency blip is the new “garden loo” downstairs.
