Typewronger books

A cold grey day. Out in the late morning for a newspaper; late enough that Typewronger books was open, next to McNaughtans. Two basements with a connecting door; new books on the right and old books on the left. Jethro Tull on audio in the new shop; no music in the old, just a faint odor of old book.  An enjoyable browse; also found a notice for the Edinburgh Book Fair two weeks from now.

Out in the evening to the New Town Church on George Street; the last Georgian Concert Society event  in the 23/24 series. The London Haydn Quartet playing Mozart string quartet no 16; then the Haydn string quartet Op 77. Excellently done. More than150 people in the church with latecomers sitting in the pews under the gallery.  The program for the next series, starting in October, is out ..
