This is a close up of the above plant/shrub leaves.
I have had this in our garden for probably 20 odd years, and this is a truly magnificent plant.
The colours on the leaves as in this photo are resplendent this year because we have not had any hard frosts as the leaves shoot in early Spring. If frosts were more prevalent at that time of new growth, the leaves would only be green and white, with very little pink in them.
Sometimes, the leaves are just green and pink and this is caused when the new growth has appeared and a frost suddenly hits the plant giving the plant less time to mature the white part of the leaves.
One can almost guess the colours of the leaves by the weather we endure.
