Japanese Gardens

We set out with the intention to go on a guided tour of the Japanese Gardens but it had been cancelled, so I passed on as much information as I could remember from my many visits there. It was a lovely day and the spring flowers in the rest of the Botanic Gardens were beautiful too.
The vertical shapes protruding from
the ground on the right are the “knees” or aerial parts of the roots of the Bald Cypress trees growing on the bank. One theory is that they grow to help stabilize the trees.
