Entombed in art

Seems like ages since we have had some relaxed time, just the two of us. So today we headed over to Liverpool to see the three new exhibitions at the Tate.

Some fantastic stuff on at the moment but the big revelation was an exhibition of sculpture from the Tate collections curated by Wayne Hemingway. The sculpture was fantastically lit in a darkened room but you walked around wearing headphones playing funky music and mirror balls lit the darkness. You were then encouraged to dance to the music in your headphones on a dance floor in the middle. Fantastically engaging way to curate an exhibition that examined the human form and really refreshing.

Then over to Fact for the Bernie Lubell exhibition with large interactive machines that you climbed all over. Including a coffin you winched yourself into head first then inside you heard strange ethereal noises from springs and speakers around the room.

Absolutely superb, much needed day :-)

ps Photo is 30 second exposure resting on my chest inside the 'coffin' :-)
