Minidoka Memories

The Minidoka Swing Band had a retirement party today for long-time leader, Larry, and manager Laura. That means big changes for the group, but it sure doesn't spell the end: the players are all so enthusiastic, they even burst into song while sharing stories. It was so good to spend time with them. This is Larry's brother George, from San Francisco, who came up for the event. He also came along for the trip to Japan in 2015; I hadn't seen him since then so we reminisced a bit including the afternoon we had a sudden, amazing view of Mt. Fuji that had been covered in clouds, so he pulled out his phone to show where he keeps a picture of the mountain.
