Bottle Ovens

What a fantastic day!

I'd seen an opportunity for a free photography workshop hosted by Gladstone Pottery Museum with Stoke-on-Trent born photographer Phil Crowe. He'd recently photographed the 47 last remaining bottle ovens in Stoke-on-Trent, and I'd been to see the exhibition of those.

The highest concentration of them is in Longton. So we had the opportunity of visiting a few, taking photos using our mobile phones and then returning to the museum to edit them and have one printed out.

My main photo is the one I chose to have printed. I've added a few others in the extras. And a snake, painted by the  graffiti artist Muck Rock who now lives in California, is from Stoke-on-Trent.
