Determination

Determination and the desire to never give up, is what it takes to become successful. Millie competed at the South Island Cross Country Championships this afternoon in Christchurch. Millie started in the Open Womens Race which included; Youth 15-17, Junior Women 18 & 19, Senior Women 20-34 and Masters Women 35-49; 50 and over. In this race a distance of 5140m 3 runners lead from the Start, Margot Gibson former World Secondary Schools Cross Country Champion and a very talented runner ( Senior Women) Flora Brocherie another champion runner 2000m Steeple Chase ( senior Women) and Millie Morgan rising star following in the footsteps of Dick Taylor ( Youth 17). These 3 women worked hard against each other with Millie and Flora dropping Margot by the halfway mark. Millie took over the lead from just past halfway determined never to give up and giving it all she had, the same was in the mind of Flora and it come down to a sprint finish, with Millie holding a 1 second lead in the last 35m of the race to win the Kennett Challenge Trophy and First place over all.
