Getting the sparkle back

Catwalk

This is at the Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art where Sunseeker and I had a great time: firstly a good blether and then a look at the current exhibitions, all of which were interesting even if not necessarily the kind of thing we might want on the wall at home.

This work was part of NHOTB & RAD which the info panels said was "an exhibition by Glasgow-based artist duo Beagles & Ramsay - John Beagles and Graham Ramsay. The title refers to their long-standing alter egos, New Heads On The Block and Rope-A-Dope.

"Here, in the heart of Glasgow's shopping and business district, Beagles & Ramsay explore the politics and tensions within fashion, consumerism and the workplace. The gallery is filled with clothing, accessories and 50 life-size mannequin-style figures sculpted from recycled office furniture and reclaimed display materials. Each of these somewhat battered flat-pack bodies is unique in its design, materiality and attitude. Some of these figures are modelling the wares, whilst many others have become bored and unruly consumers."

The figure at the front was in fact considerably larger than life size. I did check about posting this photo online and I was told it was fine provided I credited the artists and the gallery.
