Sightseeing In Wiesbaden

For her first day in Wiesbaden, we decided to show my mum some of the sights in the city itself. This is one of my personal favourites - the Russian Orthodox Church of Saint Elizabeth. This time we actually went into the church to see what it was like inside. Sadly, they do not allow photographs to be taken. A shame as it is beautifully decorated - I especially like the choir of angels that adorned the dome of the church. Well worth the 2 Euro entrance fee.

All in all we were bouncing around for about 5 hours before heading back here for a light lunch, including my mother's favourites - Strawberries and cream. She's timed that well, strawberries* are in season right now and they are just delicious.

Mum is currently chilling on the terrace and enjoying sitting in the sunshine. Out of the wind, it's about 25°C in the sun. Very pleasant.

Off out tonight to try something a little more traditional to eat and perhaps not as much wine as last night. Having said that, no-one had a problem falling asleep.

Apologies about the lack of comments from me, I will get back to it when I have a bit more time.

*Strawberries in German are Erdbeeren, that would Earth Berries in a literalish translation.
