Spoony

Went on a guided nature walk at RSPB Radipole Lake. There were six of us with a guide.  All of the others did more birding than us and seemed to indulge in competitive past bird spotting rather than looking for what was around the reserve. We heard lots of Cettis warblers and chiff chaff, saw displaying grebes, siskin, long tailed tits, Reed buntings and lots of tufted ducks. We also got a good view of Marsh harriers. No bearded tits around though which was a shame.  I've never seen one.  After the walk and a drink in the cafe,  we went on to the nearby Lodmoor reserve and came across a beautiful spoonbill. They are one of my favourite birds.  Watching it move its huge bill through the water was amazing.
Nice stroll along the seafront at Weymouth before it started raining heavily.
We got quite wet having a last dash round Radipole in a last bid to see the bearded tits.
Mist on the way back to the cottage as the clouds were so low.
