Tulip

A favourite. This tulip reminds me of those painted by the old Dutch Masters, the colours are so delicate and the way its stalk twists and turns out of the vase.  They were once worth more than gold in about the 17th C with the Dutch creating a tulip mania which spread to this country.  Different colours and shapes and mixtures were created and grown and people exchanged fortunes to acquire these beautiful flowers and their bulbs.

A quiet day at home.
