Gaia's Child

Goodbye & Hello

I'm seeing fewer and fewer Gray Catbirds. Our winter 'mewing' (yes that's what a group of Catbirds is called...I kid you not!) has been steadily dwindling. I spotted one yesterday but none today. They are beginning their northern migration and will arrive at their destinations just in time to begin nesting and raising their families. On the flip side of that coin...the Swallow-tailed kites are arriving. Yesterday I saw four soaring together above the trees. I also noticed a solitary Mississippi kite flying with some Turkey vultures. Sure signs of Spring's arrival.
