Sophie And Honey

After a rather muddy Park Run this morning, Tess and I met Kate and Sophie at the World Horse Welfare centre at Glenda Spooner Farm about 20 minutes away at Kingsdon.

We used to take her there in her pre-school days and with her love of horses and, having remembered how much she enjoyed it, she visited again a couple of weeks ago with Kate and Joel and wanted to go again today.

Here she is making friends with Honey in the stables before we walked around the extensive paddocks to see the other horses.

The centre rehabilitates unwanted or ill-treated horses, being one of a number of centres run by the charity.

We had a fun couple of hours, including a spot of lunch. Sophie spotted a second hand Dictionary of horses which, apparently, she hasn’t put down since she got in the car to go home.

Meanwhile, Yeovil were doing their best to make the title race tense by drawing away, while their nearest rivals were winning to close the gap to just 7 points.
