This morning we made our way to Alrewas village. Having parked the car we took a walk along the canal and past the church ( see extras). We then headed off for a delicious breakfast. After that we drove onto the National Memorial Arboretum. We’ve visited here at least four or five times and always find something new to look at and today was no exception. My blip is the memorial to the Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain. In WW2, they launched an appeal among their members to buy an aircraft for the RAF. They collected the target £5000 and bought a Spitfire. It was named The Fun of the Fair.
My blip title is a quote from Cdr David Childs CBE who had the idea for the Arboretum
