Waiting Patiently

I saw Mrs Mallard standing one legged on a log in the inlet sheltering from the wind. Mr Mallard was waiting dutifully nearby.

But it was the house finch which caught my attention on my way back that won the day. By the looks, he was collecting material for a nest. He waited patiently whilst I caught his portrait.
