Spillway at Lake Lyell

I’ve been married to a Dubbo girl for 45 years so, in that time, I’ve covered the distance between Dubbo and Blackheath almost as many times as I’ve had hot feeds. To amuse myself (and not necessarily isbi), I know every combination and permutation of alternative routes which add no more than about 15% to the total distance (too many to count).
Today, after visiting sister-in-law MissPeahen for a couple of days, I combined a couple of deviations, the southern most being from Bathurst along the railway through Tarana and past Lake Lyell. I’ve always loved this road, it has little traffic, great scenery, railway history and it’s ready made for motorcycles!!
