The Pensioner

Spring has sprung, etc

After days of sloth it was good to get out in the garden. After my initial work, things have slowed.. both our favourite fencer and landscape gardener are busy but will look in soon, very soon. Ahem. I’ve decided that some cane fruits would be rather nice at the bottom of the slope so maybe a raised bed could be constructed which shouldn't be beyond me; I start digging over the area.
But then rugger - having watched the other games and with the triple crown still up for grabs by the bonnie fechters we thought we’d take in the Ireland vs Scotland game, aware that Lansdowne Road hasn’t exactly been a happy hunting ground for the Scots in recent years. In the event we did pretty well defending but a sending off late on undid us. Still, we got a late consolation try.
And later finally watched God’s Own Country which I’d meant to do for ages. The SK, who had seen it before enjoyed it again but thought the central pairing unconvincing, the Gheorghe Ionescu character being too gorgeous to settle down to work as a farmhand on an impoverished hill farm with a monosyllabic constipated Yorkshireman. Don’t ask me - all men are unattractive, right?
