Hiding in plain sight

The snipe is a small well camouflaged wader, that is often surprisingly difficult to see, even when it is right in front of you.

Conversation overheard when sitting in the hide: 

"Can you see the snipe?"
"Where?"
"There in that little clump of reeds"
"No, where?"
"Do you see that ....(there now follows a long and involved attempt by the first speaker to explain how to identify the particular little clump of vegetation that the snipe is hiding in)"

Long pause

"...Nope still can't see it"
