Today's the day

Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . . . to eat and drink

One of the many wonderful things about being in France is how the simple act of eating and drinking takes on a new significance in the day.

All meals are planned with care to take full advantage of the range of fresh produce on offer.  Even the simplest of meals are lovingly prepared - and for that reason, always taste specially delicious.  Who would have thought that the combination of kiwi fruit (homegrown), radishes, fresh bread and salted butter would taste that good - and that was just for starters.

After lunch, we went to see Marie claire's son, Benoit and family for afternoon tea - it was warm enough to sit outside.  Then before we left, Benoit gave us a tour of his 'cave' (see extra).  He makes his own beer - and he is a connoisseur of fine wines. He also has a fine collection of Scottish Single Malts, of which he is very fond.

Will was particularly impressed . . . . . . . . . !
