Bandelier National Monument

We had a great few days in Santa Fe with Josiah and Clelyn and her parents, Tom and Tammy.

This photo was taken at the stunning Bandelier National Monument, in canyon and mesa country. We saw stone carvings (Petroglyphs) and dwellings carved into the soft rock cliffs.

The Ancestral Pueblo people lived here from approximately 1150 CE to 1550 CE. They built homes carved from the volcanic tuff and planted crops in mesa top fields.

We had some delicious meals together- the highlight being a very special dinner at Geronimo Restaurant, where I had Elk tenderloin - their specialty.
