Froggy went a marching …,,,

Arthur had missed the two expeditions, earlier in the week, to see the frogs so I went with Jess and family to have another look . Only a few frogs remained but in their place were large floating islands of frogspawn . We saw some newts though which appeared to be swimming through small muddy tunnels on the stream bed . It rained throughout the expedition, the sun broke through as we left and the day turned into an ideal day for garden jobs. My favourite job was gathering together oddments lying around on the pen and then creating a cloche .
Last years beetroot seeds failed to produce a single beetroot so I thought I would try giving them a more protected environment to start off in . When we had an allotment it was one of the crops that we could rely on , our current plot is very different and our main focus is on creating nourishing soil.
The extra is of the first Bokashi bin , I’m trialling an ordinary bucket with a lid as the advertised buckets seem hugely expensive. We already compost all of our green waste but this will deal with cooked food as well . The results can be used as a soil improver . I will attach a link in case anyone is interested.
Tea has been eaten and our two sons spoken too , involving a video call with the children, how blessed we are .
