Murrayfield

Mild calm morning, 7C.  Took the bike out by George Street to Haymarket then to Russel Road and through to Harrison Park and the canal. Found rowers out in pairs, and a four preparing in the club parking space. Went as far as the viaduct, in extra. Mist still down in the valley.

Down the steps to the Water of Leith path; that was unexpectedly difficult because the trough for the bike was slippery; no traction at all from the front brake. Two different lots of people offered help, which was good of them. Path not surprisingly puddly and muddy. Through Saughton Park, making a loop around the gardens; some good planting including flowering heathers with bees attending.

Stopped at the newish coffee shed at Murrayfield (blip is the view from the tables outside it) for mocha, then in by the West end.

Walked later to St Margaret's Loch past Holyrood; only 3 swans, where there have been about 20 all winter. A flock of about 60 lesser black backed gulls taking up the food on offer from visitors .. Back by London Road gardens; the later paler daffodils are coming out.
