Female Siskin

It was a lovely morning and I planned on doing some gardening.  My plans changed when F suggested a visit to Whixall Moss.

As soon as we got out of the car, the sun went in leaving grey skies and a chilly wind which is typical!

We saw siskins on an alder tree (my blip), reed bunting, long-tailed tit, stonechat and a curlew.  A lovely variety but a lot were at a distance so no photos.

We had never seen it so wet and muddy, some of the paths were impassable as there are no ways to walk round them due to holes and drains from the days when peat was extracted.  There was no way that we were risking that!
