Lakers Win

Day 5 in L.A. began with coffee down the street from our hotel, a stand called "Nice".  It was.  We then walked to the Grammy Museum, which I found underwhelming.  We also visited the main branch of the library, a beautiful building and excellent library.  After a short rest, we got our car and drove back to Hollywood and the Amoeba Music Shop.  I found a copy of the Concert By the Sea album by Erroll Garner for $2.00.  I also purchased a new copy of a Lee Morgan record I had been looking for.  It's a great shop, and one that Connelly's "Bosch" character visited often.

Lunch was at another iconic restaurant visited not only by Connelly's characters, but it seems every other celebrity.  At Pink's Hot Dogs, I had the Carl Reiner version (just mustard and sauerkraut).  We drove back to the hotel without going on any California highway... amazing.

On the east coast, we refer to highways as I40 (Interstate 40) or Route 17.  The freeways in California are referred to as "The 101" or "The 405".

We ended the day by walking to the Crypto.com Arena to see the Las Angeles Lakers play the Atlanta Hawks.  We got to see the great LeBron James do his magic on the basketball court.
