Gore Pond, Bredgar

I had a band rehearsal this morning in Sittingbourne. Barbara and Susan went to be with Doreen. Thank you once again for all your kind words of support and good wishes during these difficult days.

After lunch the was time for a short walk before finishing that afternoon with Doreen.

The route home from Sittingbourne involves a detour owing to the A249 south of the M2 being closed for 5 weeks as part of a new junction with the M2.

The silver lining is that one route home takes you through Bredgar village and past the village pond. This was the first time I’ve taken time to stop and look at the pond.

Some interesting news on the Railway. It’s our 50th anniversary of reopening this year. Today it was announced that BR Standard Class 7 No 70000 Britannia will be visiting Robertsbridge for the Gala giving short rides along the new section of track towards Bodiam. There’s 2 miles of track to relay to join Robertsbridge with Bodiam.

The Gala is 1st and 2nd June
