Allen’s Hummingbird

Today’s sunny-day outing was at the Arboretum on campus—a popular destination for hummers and people. Usually there are a lot of little zoomers flitting around, but today: just the one. He was very obliging, sitting still for entire seconds at a time. Most of the time he was gone before I figured out where he was, but I got lucky.
The Extra is a view of a Protea glowing in the sun. The garden is a renown showplace for plants from Australia and New Zealand, and they are just beginning to pop. So many colors, so many bees. Another beautiful day to sit in the sun and look at things. When I got home I looked at some weeds, and even pulled a few, but mostly I just like being out in the warm, working on my breathing skills.
