Bush Creek Track …..

….. ….. ….. high above the Wakatipu Basin. The Remarkable Mountains are on the left horizon, and Lake Wakatipu stretches away to the south.

Missy & I set off from Arrowtown at 9:15am and reached the Bush Creek Saddle about midday. We walked through steep forests sandwiched between mountainous hanging valleys.
I hope this isn’t too late for Wide Wednesday, even though it’s tall, rather than wide!

The track sidles along a former historic water race which carried water from Arrowtown to the gold diggers at Arthur’s Point. Missy’s standing on part of that track in the photo.

We descended down to the main road via a bike track, which really shouldn’t allow walkers - it’s named HotRod and is an intermediate grade 3 MTB track. We were very fortunate that we weren’t in the wrong place at the wrong time! I kept on looking back to see if any bikes were racing down towards us. Never again!
I’ve deleted heaps of photos but still have 19 - I’ll put a couple more in Extras.

It must have taken us about 4 hours altogether, including stops.
